Byrd has spent the past five seasons with the Bills. While there he has become one of the top safeties in the league, with 22 intercepeptions, three Pro Bowls, three All-Pro teams, and 353 tackles. The Jets right now at safety have Antonio Allen, Dawan Landry, and Jaquian Jarrett, not such a great group. The secondary was terrible in 2013, and adding a guy like Byrd would totally change that. On the open market, he could demand more money than Bucs safety Dashon Goldson, who got a five year, 41.5 million dollar deal a year ago.
If they sign Byrd, it could make the Jets be willing to take multiple offensive weapons early. The wide receiver class is strong, with guys like Evans, lee, Matthews, Beckham, Robinson, and Cooks. All of these guys could end up in green next season.
