In Rex's five seasons the team has never fielded a good offensive squad. The team always talks about their strong defense, but in even this year the defense has looked pretty weak. In their past four drafts the Jets have went defense with their five first round picks, something I doubt would happen with an offensive minded coach. The biggest thing for the Jets is that they have the talent on defense not to need a only defensive minded head coach. When you have the inconsistency the Jets have had at quarterback, you need a strong offensive guy.
If the Jets were to move on from Rex Ryan, there are many names to consider. Some names that I think of are Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell, Penn State coach Bill O'Brien, Chargers offensive coordinator Ken Winsenhunt, and Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden. These would all be great replacements for Rex.
