All the optimism and love towards Ryan Fitzpatrick has seemed to fade as the team has strung together four losses in five weeks. After a 4-1 start, the veteran quarterback has taken a turn for the worse. He tore some ligaments in his left thumb during the Raiders game, and has begun to turn the ball over more frequently. Fitzpatrick now has 2,199 yards, with 16 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. These are numbers that many would of signed up for before the season. With a trimmed beard and a healthy Nick Mangold snapping to him, the Jets need Fitzpatrick to have a big game on Sunday. The veteran only has two games this season without an interception. The last time the Jets faced the Dolphins in London, Fitzpatrick played well enough for the team to win. They need more than well enough. With another stinker this week, the Jets may need to turn to Geno Smith. The Jets best part of the offense is their two receivers, Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker. They need Fitzpatrick on his game to succeed.
Defensive Player- Marcus Williams
The news came today that the Jets top corner, Darrelle Revis, is going to be out for the game on Sunday. The star corner is dealing with a concussion, making Antonio Cromartie and Marcus Williams the likely starters. Cromartie has been a major letdown after inking a big deal over the offseason. He has been burnt several times on deep balls and has dealt with injuries. Marcus Williams on the other hand, has exceeded expectations. The second year corner has 4 interceptions on the year. Last week he got scored on, but it was a clear push off by DeAndre Hopkins. This week I expect Williams to be on Jarvis Landry most of the game. Landry is a big-play receiver, and the Jets need to contain him. If Williams does his job, the Jets should not be concerned on defense.
