For the Jets, they open week 1 at home against an improved Buffalo Bills team. There are some pundits I have seen pick Buffalo as a wild card team. Some think with the additions of Mario Williams, Mark Anderson and 1st round pick Stephen Gilmore, the Bills defense will be improved enough to become a top unit in the league. Myself.....I'm a little skeptical about the Bills.
I still don't trust Ryan Fitzpatrick at all. While Fred Jackson is a nice player and Stevie Johnson can be a big play wide receiver, the Bills just don't have a ton on offense to scare you with. The offensive line is not a strong unit at all, with new guys and a rookie starting for them. Perhaps the Bills will be improved.....I'm going to have to see it first.
As for the Jets, there is no question this is one of the more interesting opening days for them in a long time. Coming off the disappointing 8-8 2011 season, the Jets will look to bounce back and see if they can return to the playoffs after missing last year. The off-season was certainly a bit wild....from trading for Tim Tebow, the somewhat criticized selection of Quinton Coples in the draft, to trading Wayne Hunter, to not scoring a touchdown with the first team offense during the pre-season, the Jets have certainly given people A LOT to talk about. As of 1 p.m. today, they get to go out and show exactly what it is they've got.
