Wes Welker vs. Antonio Cromartie- Wes Welker is one of the most dangerous wide outs in the national football league. Lined up in the slot he is Tom Brady's favorite weapon. Since the loss of Revis, Cromartie has played great against Andre Johnson and Reggie Wayne. In just six games Wes already has 48 catches, leading the NFL. Cromartie is a physical guy and with his speed is a good matchup with Wes. Cromartie already has three picks this year and hopefully can play well against Wes Welker.
Rob Gronkowski vs. LaROn Landry/Yeremiah Bell- Last season the Jets could not stop tight end Rob Gronkowski. As Rex said today he may be the best receiver in the league and is so dangerous with size and speed. Over the offseason the Jets brought in two new starting safeties. LaROn Landry will most likely see the most action on Gronk. Landry is a big hitter and strong enough to handle ROb. The Jets also have to deal with other tight end Aaron Hernandez, who is overshadowed by the Gronk. We will see if the jets can make sure Rob does not do one of his spikes in the end zone.
Jets Pass Rush VS. Tom Brady- Under Rex the Jets have been known for their feisty pass rush, that rush has not been very consistent this season. Over the first six weeks the Jets are 26th in the NFL in sacks with only 9. Guys like AAron Maybin have not showed up yet. He has already been sacked 13 times, three times more than Sanchez, and a number the Pats want to keep low. The Jets need Couples, Maybin, Pace and the Pass rush to come alive if they want contain Brady and the Patriots offense.
