The Jets announced that they have signed cornerback LeQuan Lewis, an undrafted free agent in 2011 out of Arizona State. He has spent time previously with both the Titans and Raiders. While at Arizona State Lewis recorded 26 tackles and 1 interception, as well as averaging 25 yards per kickoff return. He can play both receiver or cornerback. He also ran a 4.38 on his pro day which shows he has speed. Unfortunately we may never know his full potential unless he makes the Jets 53 man final roster cut.
The Jets have reportedly reached out to sprinter Jeff Demps. Demps won a silver medal in London and is trying to return to the game of football. He was a running back at the University of Florida, where he was a teammate of Tim Tebow. Over his college career he ran for 2,470 yards and 23 touchdowns while also returning kicks. He went un-drafted after telling teams he was going for track and field. With his speed, it would be interesting to see what he could bring to the Jets. It would be a good signing to add another weapon for Mark Sanchez.
