OVer his career at South Carolina, Lattimore established himself as one of the best backs in the country. During his freshman season, he ran for 1197 yards and 17 touchdowns. He appeared destined for superstardom, until the injuries happened. During his sophomore season, he tore a knee ligament and missed most of the season. Back in his junior season, he was playing great. He ran for 662 yards, 11 touchdowns, but got hurt in the middle of the season once again. He tore multiple ligaments in his knee. His draft stock slipped and many have viewed him as a mid-to-late round pick.
If John Idzik wants to nail this draft, taking a chance on Lattimore in the middle of the draft would be perfect. Yesterday in front of many scouts, Lattimore showed he could run on his knee. After his workout, he received a standing ovation from the scouts. Lattimore is a guy I view as a superstar in the NFL. If he had not of injured his knee this season, he would of been a first round pick. We all saw Adrian Peterson recover from a torn ACl, so why can't Lattimore do it? He is a big injury risk, but the reward will be sweet once he becomes a star.
