Bell against Jets is now a New York Jet
As I reported yesterday, the Jest were one of the last four teams in the hunt to get former Miami Dolphins SS Yeremiah Bell who this morning narrowed it down to the Jets and Eagles. At about 3:00 I checked ESPN and found out that the Jets have signed Bell to a 1 year 1.4 million dollar deal. With Landry and Bell, our two safety singings this off-season, we defiantly filled our safety holes. These two on the field at once, including Cromartie, Revis, Wilson, and David Harris, our secondary should and can be the best in the AFC and NFL. We will be making huge defensive plays and quarterbacks will have a harder time making big plays against the Jets with secondary help. Rex Ryan scored big today, and so did Bell.
Bell, playing in a total of 14+ games against the Jets, probably hates half of the Jets he's played against, but that will all change soon once he meets Revis, Cromartie, and Tebow. Teams should be scared of the Jets defense again. With Rex's blitzing packages Bell or Landry will probably be after the quarterback a lot like Troy Polomalu is for the Steelers. The best part of Bell is that he is a tackler, racking up a total of 562 tackles with the Dolphins proves he can get receivers after the catch, running backs who get past the line and quarterback who's on the move. I love this addition more then any the Jets other moves the Jets have made since they traded for Brett Favre. As long as Landry stays healthy, it will be exciting to watch the Jets play defense. We could see the Jets win a game scoring more defensive points then offensive points. Now I'm going to stop writing before I start to sound crazy, Jets fans who read this should be very excited, just like I am now, for Yeremiah Bell and the Jets exciting Defense.
