I think at Some point enough is enough with these slow veterans and it is time to put in the young guys who will shape the future of the team. The first position I look at is inside linebacker. Bart Scott is 32 and dealing with injuries. He has been good this season, but I think it is time for Demario Davis to take over. He has shown good speed, tackling abilities, and should develop into a stud at middle linebacker for the Jets. THe next position I look at is outside linebacker. Calvin Pace is getting old and just is a pain to watch. I think you need to get a guy like Marcus Dowtin more snaps, Aaron Maybin more snaps, or even call up Ricky Sapp from the practice squad.
Other young guys I want to see more of are Antonio Allen, Joe McKnight, Aaron Berry, Damon Harrison, Quinton Couples, and even Greg Mcelroy. If the Jets next few games do not go well and they sit at a 3-7 or 4-8 record, I think Rex should give Mcelroy a start to see what he can do. In preseason outings he has looked good and If Sanchez continues to struggle, he is the man over Tebow.
