Goodson was signed to a three year, seven million dollar deal, with a lot of it in incentives, so if cut there are no real financial consequences. The probability of Goodson getting cut is high, so this gives Joe McKnight another chance with the Jets. With Goodson on the roster, McKnight looked like the odd man out. I would of loved to see Goodson in Marty Morhinweg's offense, as I think he would of flourished. If Idzik does not cut him, it may hurt his reputation of having control over this team. It would add to the circus mantra, and would hurt the Jets reputation.
This going right after the Garrard retirement changes John Idzik's plan. These two guys were his first two free agent signings, but both will most likely never suit up for the New York Jets. Hopefully Goodson's charges are not horrible and Idzik will have less reasoning as to cut the talented running back.
