Right now, the Jets receiving corps is not looking good heading into Monday night football against the Atlanta Falcons. Their starters Stephen Hill and Santonio are most likely out, leaving them with Jeremy Kerley, Ryan Spadola, Clyde Gates, and newly signed David Nelson. This is not a positive for rookie Geno Smith heading into the game against the Falcons. While there aren't many great options out there, there are a couple of ways the Jets could fix their receiving corps to respectable on Monday. The Falcons have looked vulnerable against wideouts, as Kenbeall Thompkins dominated them last week.
The first move I would make if I was John Idzik is signing receiver Josh Cribbs. Cribbs worked out for the Jets today, and is a guy who can help in multiple aspects of the game. Cribbs is one of the best return men of all-time, and would be a reliable receiving target for Geno. The Jets return game has been awful through the first four games, as Clyde Gates has done nothing. If the jets sign Cribbs, I think they should cut Clyde Gates. Gates has done nothing with his speed, has dropped balls, and is not a great return man.
Another guy the Jets should look is Kevin Ogletree. Ogletree was released today by the Buccaneers, but has caught 8 passes and a touchdown already this season. Last season for the Cowboys the 26 year old caught 32 passes. Bringing in a guy like OGlet
