Duke is the best option for the Jets if they intend to pick a running back in the draft. Johnson put up over 1,600 yards and 10 touchdowns last season at Miami. He is 5'9, very quick, and will be a good receiving back at the next level. He has major upside as a prospect with his ability to stretch the field.
Projected Round- (2-3)
2) David Cobb, Minnesota
Cobb really impressed a lot of teams at the Senior Bowl. He is not as quick as Johnson, but Cobb is physical and well-built. He is a guy who can block out of the backfield and be a good receiving option in Gailey's spread offense. He logged over 1,600 yards and 13 touchdowns at Minnesota.
Projected Round- (3)
3) Ameer Abdullah, Nebraska
Of the guys on the list, Abudullah is probably going to be picked first. Abdullah is only 5'8, and has major explosiveness out of the backfield. He is a speed guy who has reliable hands. His only issue is his fumbles. At Nebraska this past season, he recorded 19 touchdowns.
Projected Round- (2)
4) TJ Yeldon, Alabama
Recently I have seen a lot of people down on TJ Yeldon. I still am high on him. Yeldon is a tall back at 6'2, with great athletic ability and a quick running style. In a platoon at Alabama, he recorded almost 1,000 yards and 11 touchdowns this past season. Yeldon could need some developing in the NFL, but has major upside.
Projected Round- (4)
