Muhammad Wilkerson broke out for the Jets last season, showing he is one of the best defensive lineman in football. The Tampa Bay buccaneers have some injuries to their interior offensive line, opening it up for Muhammad Wilkerson to have a huge game. Wilkerson said yesterday they know how to get to Josh Freeman, and their game-plan is set. I expect Wilkerson to have a big game on Sunday.
2) Darrelle Revis does not have an interception
The big storyline for Sunday's game is the Revis return to New York. With rookie Geno Smith starting, I do not expect the Jets to test revis at all. They may test his knee with some deep balls, but they won't throw at him much. Revis with limited chances, will not have an interception in his return from ACL surgery.
3) Santonio Holmes is not a factor
Yesterday the news came out, Santonio Holmes would be limited Sunday with his leg injury. Holmes has been practicing but has been limited. Who knows what limited means, but with a great Buccaneers secondary Holmes won't be much of an impact on the game.
4) Geno Smith Shows He Has Good potential
I don't think Geno goes out and is a superstar in his first game, but I think he will show us he has the tools to be a good quarterback in this league. I think Geno will be involved in a few touchdowns, but he also will turnover the ball at least once.
5) Jets Win, 27-17.
At home, weak tampa bay offensive line, good Jets running game, Jets win. Geno Smith will help the Jets get off to a 1-0 start going into a tough thursday night game against the Patriots.
