Jordan White is the real deal. A seventh-round pick out of WMU, has totaled 140 receptions, 1,911 yards, and 17 touchdowns in 2011, was signed off the practice squad just before the game on Thursday versus the Patriots. Sadly, White did not play in the game. He may not be the fastest guy on the football field for a WR, running a 4.69 in the 40 at the NFL Combine, but this guy can catch if you look at some of his college clips. If Clyde Gates and Chaz Schilens both can't play due to their respective head injuries, I think they should put White as the number three WR, behind Jeremy Kerley and Stephen Hill (unless if the Jets would go and sign a WR like a Deion Branch). I also think he could make an impact for Mark Sanchez, just by the way he can catch the ball (unlike Stephen Hill).
The Cardinals are not a very good team, but they have a huge weapon in Larry Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald is one of the best receivers in the game with 55 catches, 627 yards, and four touchdowns. The Jets with the tough task of guarding Fitzgerald will be Antonio Cromartie. It will be a fun matchup to watch on Sunday. If the he can shut down Fitzgerald, the Cardinals offense has nothing. Who do you think has the advantage, Fitzgerald or Cromartie?
Jets injury News: Wide Receiver Clyde Gates sat out of practice and will most likely not play on Sunday.

THe Philadelphia Eagles season has been just awful. A 3-8 record, injuries all around, and a coach on a very hot seat. The former "Dream Team" has been possibly one of the most underachieving teams ever considering the moves they made. Today they cut veteran defensive lineman Jason Babin. If you a Jets fan you might remember that name, as he had three sacks against the Jets last season. Why are the Eagles cutting him? I assume because they are just having a fire sale.
For the Jets it is a no-brainer to sign Babin. He has 5.5 sacks this season, three more than the Jets leader. Last season he was an all-pro and had 18 sacks! Two seasons ago he had 12 and if the Jets pick up off waivers, they will only owe him 1.5 million. Rex Ryan would love to have Babin, recking havoc on the pass rush for the Jets. please Tannenbaum, sign jason Babin.
Jarvis Jones, OLB, Georgia- Jones is one of the best prospects out of this draft. He is second in the nation in sacks per game and first in tackles for loss per game. At 6'3, 240 and with speed, he could be an elite pass rusher. If the jets have a top ten pick, Jones could fall right into their hands.
Barkevious Mingo, OLB, LSU- Like Jones, the upside on this kid is tremendous. He has explosive speed and is a pure pass rusher. He has all the physical tools to be a beast, but the only concern is his lack of time as a starter. He is raw and is a guy who needs to be developed a litte bit.
Chane wormack, OG, Alabama- THe Jets need a makeover on most of their offensive line. They know they are set at the center position and left tackle position, but the rest of the line has not been so good. Warmack is the second best lineman in the draft and is quick, light on his feet, and is a big fellow. YOu know Alabama produces good offensive lineman.
This man (if he is still the GM) has some work to do
Dustin Keller- THe Jets tight end will be a free agent after this season, and over the last five games he wants to show his talent. Keller is only 28 and has been Mark's favorite target for the past four seasons. In only seven games this season, he has 26 catches. The past two seasons, he has gotten over 50 catches and has shown some signs of being a star. I think The jets will try hard to bring him back.
Shonn Greene- Now in his fourth year in the league, he has yet to brake out as a top flight running back. A few seasons back he had the amazing playoff run which broke him onto the scene. Last season he ran for over 1,000 yards and is expected to again this season. I am not sure if the Jets will give him the money because of his inconsistent running.
LaRon Landry- I have loved Landry in a Jets uniform. After signing for a bargain one year deal, he has stayed healthy and has been so fun to watch. His big hits and game changing plays make him special. I think plenty of teams will be interested in LaRon Landry this offseason. while he has said he wants to stay a Jet, it might be a little hard for the Jets to retain him.
I CAN'T TELL YOU HOW UTTERLY DISGUSTED I AM WITH THE WAY THIS FIREMAN ED STORY HAS GONE DOWN. FOR HIM TO SAY THAT HE WILL NOW GO TO GAMES WITHOUT HIS ATTIRE ON BECAUSE HE IS GETTING ATTACKED FROM OTHER JETS FANS AT THE GAME MAKES ME SICK TO MY STOMACH. WHO ARE THESE FANS AND WHAT GOOD DO THEY THINK THEY'RE DOING BY ATTACKING OTHER JET FANS IN THE BUILDING? ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS.
ED ANZALONE IS A GUY WHO GOES TO HIS FOOTBALL TEAMS GAMES AND JUST DOES HIS BEST TO ENJOY THE GAME AS MUCH AS HE CAN. HIM DOING THE "J E T S JETS JETS JETS" CHANT WAS ONLY SUPPOSED TO ENHANCE THE EXPERIENCE FOR ALL OTHER FANS AT THE GAME. FOR HIM TO NOW STOP DOING IT BECAUSE THERE ARE OTHER SUPPOSED "FANS" CALLING HIM OUT AND GIVING HIM A HARD TIME DISGUSTS ME. THE MAN WAS GOING TO A FOOTBALL GAME TO HAVE A GOOD TIME AND HELP OTHER PEOPLE HAVE AS MUCH FUN AS HIM AND NOW THAT HAS BEEN TAKEN AWAY DUE TO THE DISGRACEFUL BEHAVIOR OF OTHERS. It's a damn shame.
i've never met mr. anzalone, but i do hope now that he can go to games and just enjoy them for what they are now....an escape. going to a football game to root on your team, no matter how good or bad they are, is supposed to be an escape from the rigors of real life for a few hours. You go and cheer on your team with all your heart and hope they come out on top. Win or lose though, it's a few hours in a place with 75,000 other people who are supposed to be doing the same thing. we are all supposed to be on the same page when we are there. we are all supposed to be just enjoying a game. that's all it is folks...a game.
as for these "fans" that have caused mr. anzalone to do this....take a look in the mirror guys. is this what you wanted? was your goal to give this man such a hard time that he'd quit doing this? that he would now be forced to not do something that he and all the other fans at the stadium clearly loved? This is a franchise with all kinds of issues right now. Fans fighting other fans shouldn't be one of them. This is as sad a situation as i've ever seen. Fans of the same team making perhaps their biggest fan not want to partic
When Fireman Ed left the Jets game at halftime on Thursday, a few fans gave him a lot of bashing for it. The super fan has announced that he will no longer lead the famous "J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets" chant. He will still attend games, but will sit in different seats. he says that he will never quit on the Jets, he is just sick of what fans say about him.
This is really upsetting for me and I think every Jets fan. Every Jets game I have ever been to, I have always loved being a part of the chant. Watching fireman Ed lead the chant gives me a feeling of excitement, and I think it pumps up every one in the stadium.
The New York Jets have had problems all season long from the Tebow trade to the disaster on Thanksgiving night against the Patriots. It's unlikely they can make a playoff run, but anything can happen. If the Jets want to get better in 2013, here are ten things the Jets should do during the offseason:
1. Keep Rex for one more year
If the Jets can show something down the stretch, Rex doesn't need to be fired. You can't argue that it has been rough for rex this season, finding the right pieces to replace playmakers like Revis and Holmes. I mean, c'mon, it wasn't his fault that they got hurt. All I'm saying is, he's taken the jets to the AFC Championship his first two years, and that's not easy to do if you're a first-year head coach (unless if you just have a great team to start with).
2. Fire Mike Tannenbaum
There's only one reason why he should be fired: acquiring Tim Tebow. If you made a commitment to Sanchez with giving him a three-year extension, you don't get Tebow two weeks later. That just doesn't make sense at all.
3. Keep Mark Sanchez
If you look at his numbers, they're not great. 10 interceptions, 4 in the redzone, and 10 fumbles. But, when you don't have the players around you, you can't succeed. The receivers are mediocre and the run-game is just too inconsistent. Rex has been insisting Mark as the QB, but I agree with him on keeping Sanchez as his QB. I know Sanchez has made mistakes and/or blunders especially the "butt-fumble," but he's made big plays when it matters (especially in the playoffs). He was successful with Thomas Jones and LaDainian Tomlinson as his RB, Braylon Edwards, Santonio Holmes, and Jerricho Cotchery as his WR, and a probowl offensive line. If he has good players around him, he can absolutely be successful.
4. Trade Tim Tebow
This was a fit that just did not work. He's amassed just 39 passing yards and 87 yards rushing. I believe the less he's on the field for the wildcat or just a gimmick, the better Sanchez plays. When Mark makes a big play, and they take him out for Tebow, it seems like Mark loses his rhythm. Quarterbacks need rhythm, am i right?
5. Sign a WR during free agency
The Jets couldn't get a good WR last offseason, which wouldn't help Mark Sanchez at all, considering they let Plaxico Burress go. The Jets need a WR that can make plays like Holmes, and the best option to go with is Kansas City WR Dwayne Bowe. He's young, he plays for one of the worst teams in the NFL, and he's a free agent. This is a perfect guy to sign to play opposite of Holmes, and put Kerley back in the slot. If Stephen Hill doesn't show anything for the next few weeks, then go after Bowe.
6. Re-sign Landry and Keller to small deals
Laron Landry has made big plays on defense for the Jets, but injury concerns is one reason why the Jets should give him a small deal. If he gets hurt and has a 4-year contract, that would be a deal that the Jets would regret. Dustin Keller, on the other hand, is a productive TE and is a big target Mark Sanchez can rely on throughout a game. If they let go of him, it wouldn't be good for Sanchez unless if they get a TE that's just as good or better than Keller.
7. Re-work Revis' contract
Whatever you do, do not have Darrelle Revis hold out again. I believe he can come back to be the shutdown corner he was before his knee injury. If he wants a nice contract to keep him a Jet, then give it to him. This Jets defense is better when he is on the field because they can play man-to man. When he's not on the field, they play a lot of zone. If Adrian Peterson can come back from an ACL tear and lead the NFL in rushing, why can't Revis be the shutdown corner he was?
8. Get a guard or a tackle
This Jets offensive line was so good a couple years ago, what happened? Yes, Austin Howard's been a surprise and Matt Slauson is average, but they're could be someone better the Jets can get. I don't know who, but if they're good, that's all I care about. Whether it's the draft or free agency, doesn't matter to me.
9. Get an OLB in the draft or free agency
Both Calvin Pace and Bryan Thomas are on the wrong side of their 30s, and this team needs to get younger at the OLB position. I have no problem with the defensive line, I'm just concerned of the OLB. Again, whether it's the draft or free agency, doesn't matter to me.
10. Cut Bart Scott
The Jets are not that swaggering team no more, and Bart Scott just doesn't do much no more. I saw on Twitter that he only played 11 defensive snaps on Thursday, and the snap that killed us was the Vereen touchdown. He couldn't even catch up to Vereen to at least save a touchdown. Another reason is the media boycott after the game versus the Rams. I mean, really, a boycott? You just got momentum and you want to start a boycott? It just doesn't make sense. Just enjoy the win. Also, don't forget about Bart threatened a reporter earlier this season.
Thursday night was the most embarrassing moment of my time as a Jets fan. We got embarrassed and Mark Sanchez yet again made mistakes that cost the Jets this game. With our season all but over, I think it is time for second year quarterback Greg Mcelroy to take over at quarterback.
Mcelroy was a Jets seventh round pick last season out of Alabama. at Alabama he was a winner, winning a national championship. In his senior year he threw 20 touchdowns, five interceptions, and got the job done. in his first preseason with the Jets he played in two games, throwing two touchdowns, 267 yards, and did not turn the ball over. After that he hurt his thumb and was put on IR. This preseason, he was the only jet to throw a touchdown. Although he does not have a great arm, he is very smart on the field. Joe Namath even has his fellow Alabama quarterback's back.
so with the season in the dumps, I want to see what Greg can do.
