Mark Sanchez at last year's "Jets West Camp"
Like before Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez is running Jets West Camp, a private camp with some Jets offensive players. According to sources at West Camp, Sanchez organized weightlifting sessions, did film sessions, and playbook studying. This year the Jets will have a new guest, Mr. Tim Tebow. While this seems like an obvious, it is interesting considering Santonio Holmes did not invite Tebow to his Orlando workout about a month ago. The players attending are Sanchez, Tebow, Greg McCelroy, Shonn Greene, Joe McKnight, John Conner, Jeremy Kerley, Patrick Turner, Scotty McKnight, and tight ends Dustin Keller, Josh Baker, and Jeff Cumberland. Where is Santonio and Stephen Hill you ask? We don't know about Holmes, and Hill is a maybe due to scheduling conflicts at the time of the camp. Rookie running back, Terrence Ganaway, declined the invite, as he wants to spend more time with his new wife. The camp is likely to be in early July.
This shows good leadership on the part of Mark Sanchez. First things first to put it together takes leadership. The big leadership is invited Tim Tebow. We all know Sanchez and Tebow are in a, "battle," and sometimes a quarterback might not invite his competitor so that he can get more familiar with the offense than the other guy. I would love to see the workouts, but they are all private. It should be interesting to see if these workouts impact the play of the offense, and if Holmes will show up.
