His stats through two games aren't pretty, 1 touchdown, 4 interceptions, and 47o yards, with a QBR of 55.0. Even though these are rough stats, Geno has shown us some of his tools that make him have potential. He has showed his ability to stand in the pocket under pressure, a good arm, and his ability to get out of the pocket and scramble to pick up some yards. Geno was the Jets 2nd round pick this season, and I think he has the tools to be a great player in this league. a huge reason for his struggles agains the Patriots were the fact of a lack of weapons. Stephen Hill and Clyde Gates dropped a lot of balls and the Jets didn't have one deep threat.
I think it's a little early to give up on Geno Smith. He has struggled, but he has also shown the tools. Matt Simms was great in the preseason, but that was against third-stringers.
