The last 5 years at number 9:
2012- Carolina pANTHERS, Luke Kuechly, LB Boston College
2011- dALLAS cOWBOYS, Tyron Smith, OT USC
2010- bUFFALO bILLS, CJ spiller, RB Clemson
2009- Green Bay Packers, BJ Raji, DT Boston College
2008- Cincinnati Bengals, Keith Rivers, LB USC
The last time the Jets picked 9th they ended up with.....
Kyle Brady, TE Penn State: Considered one of the Jets top 5 draft busts, Brady did nothing in his Jets career. His best season as a jET was 1998 when he played 16 games, caught 30 balls and recorded 315 yards.
Best player drafted at #9 in the last 20 years.....
Chicago Bears, Brian Urlacher, MLB New Mexico: A future hall of Famer, Urlacher has recorded 1037 tackles in 182 gameS.
IN the last 20 years not one QB has been picked 9th, and this year the Jets can change that. With a weak QB class, the recent Acquisition of Kevin Kolb for the Buffalo Bills, the chance of Geno Smith slipping falling is becoming more and more probable. The only team in the Jets way is the Cardinals, and I think that the Jets will get there new QB this year.
And with the 9th pick in the 2013 NFL Draft the New York Jets select, Geno Smith, QB West Virginia.
