After two seasons with the team, the Bengals cut wide receiver Jordan Shipley. Shipley was great at the University of Texas and was drafted in the third round. In his rookie season he posted a solid 52 receptions to go with 600 yards receiving. But early season Shipley tore his ACL, cutting his season short. This offseason the Bengals added a lot of depth at the receiver position, and due to his injury, he was the odd man out. Shipley is a great kid and this is just a tough break for him.
Earlier today, I wrote about whether or not the Jets would try and get Percy Harvin. But to get Harvin they would have to give up a high draft pick, getting Shipley has no risk. He could be a good slot receiver and add more depth for the Jets.
