Out of nowhere the New York Jets have agreed to a contract with first round pick Quinton Coples, according to a source. The deal is for four years with a fifth year option, and will be worth around the same as Bruce Irvin's deal in Seattle, which was like 9 million. With the signing the Jets now have two unsigned rookies, third rounder DeMario Davis, and seventh rounder Jordan White. Four years from now when we look back at the signing of Coples, what will we think? I think we will be in love with the pick. Coples is 6'6, gets to the pass rusher, and I think Rex's extra attention to work with the defense, will help Coples immensely. Four years from now I could see him being a consistent double digit sack guy and be a force with Mo Wilkerson on the front line for the Jets. What do you guys think?

Also in Jets news, third round pick in the 2011 NFL draft, Kenrick Ellis will plead guilty to charges of assault and battery. The charges have been reduced from a high felony, and Ellis will serve most likely 90 days in prison. The Jets knew this kid had issues of the field when they drafted him, but Rex has always loved this guy. Ellis will most likely get a few game suspension by Roger Godell to start the season.
